I know workout classes, Orange Theory, Barry’s Bootcamp and SoulCycle are all the rage – I do like going to classes – but my favorite workout is running outside. I love being outside in the fresh air while I put some pavement between me and any life stresses. I love running outside on trails. It still allows for a clear running trail but you not bothered by cars and the slow traversing pedestrian. It’s just you, nature and the occasional other runner or biker.
One of the benefits I have found from running outside is that I tend to run longer because I am enjoying the sunshine. I have a favorite trail that follows the water along Lake Washington. It’s a great way to start my day. I always recommend hitting outdoor trails in the morning or evening. It helps to avoid the heat of the day and its less crowded on the trails during this time. When I run outside I always make sure I have: a hat, sunglasses, comfy shoes and layers depending on the change in the weather.
I am wearing a running top that is part of the Stella McCartney Adidas collaboration. Adidas is a brand that I have always worn (here and here). I particularly love this top because it’s a true runners top. Its form fitting and aerodynamic – perfect for running. I love the navy color, its very fitting for the northwest. This running top also has a great little hood which is perfect for when the weather starts to get rainy – which in Seattle is inevitable.
These workout leggings have the perfect amount of stretch. These pants also have a high elastic waistband which helps you feel secure when you are running or stretching. I am all about comfort and activewear you can really sweat in when you workout. This workout top and comfy leggings are perfect for hitting the running trails!
