Let’s talk about how Instagram and Facebook went down this week. People reactions were crazy, there were reports of people calling the police and freaking out on Facebook.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I appreciate Instagram as an amazing platform to connect with you guys in real-time. Its where I share my favorite blog highlights and behind the scenes on Insta-Stories. When it went down this week it gave me a nice break.
I typically post every day which includes: photographing the content, thinking of witty captions, and linking everything to be shoppable. It was nice to take a moment and not be dependent on the platforms.
But it is interesting to see how ingrained these platforms are in our daily lives. We check them constantly. They all have benefits – keeping up with loved ones all over the world, connecting and finding adventures and new opportunities.
Having a massive following on Facebook or Instagram can now be a profitable business. But they can also be a major time suck and being on your phone constantly can be very annoying to the people you hang out with. It’s a constant balancing act, but I often wonder about the times before the iPhone and the internet. What did they do with all that time??
