Personal Update: Dealing With Loss

Today post is a sad one – there has been an illness in my family. Terminal cancer, that a close family member has been battling for the last few years.

I have not really shared a lot about this, mainly because it wasn’t my story to tell. But we recently lost this family member. She was taken much too soon and it’s prompting a lot of heartache, sadness, and reflection.

It’s hard to imagine her not at family gatherings and events. She was an avid Whit Wander’s newsletter subscriber, who would reply to every single one of my emails to share sweet and kind feedback. She was my supporter and a champion. She was selfless, kind and a spark of positivity. She was a teacher, a mother, and so loved by her family.

I wish I could explain how much she will be missed but words don’t seem sufficient. I wish I could have thanked her more. I wish I had taken more time with her and emailed back more often. My heart hurts and will probably hurt for a long time.

So hug your loved ones extra tight today.  Tomorrow is never promised, love and appreciate the people who are in your life. Be thankful! I am very grateful to have had her touch my life and my heart.
