Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019: What To Shop

Early Access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicked off today, Friday, July 12th. Now the reason why the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is always such a big deal is that it’s a sale for brand NEW inventory and NEW trends for the upcoming season: Fall & Winter.

These are NEW styles that are just hitting Nordstrom and are discounted heavily. I know it can be hard trying to shop for Fall & Winter when it’s hot outside. But if you play your cards right you can score coats, boots, and sweaters for amazing deals!

I have scoured the entire Nordstrom site for the best styles and recommended pieces. Quite a few of these pieces I already own myself. I am also breaking down the key dates of the Nordstrom sale along with answering the questions that you sent in!

Do I really think the Nordstrom Sale is worth it?

I think its all about how you shop the Nordstrom Sale. This is a sale that has great discounts on Fall and Winter styles. I like to invest in pieces that tend to have a high price point that I probably wouldn’t buy full price. Buy key pieces that will get a ton of wear for Fall and Winter. Be strategic about what you are buying for your closet. You do not need every color or style. Avoid seasonal items.

I focus on coats that are normally $259 are under $160 and OTK Boots that retail for $239 are now on sale for $159. Blazers that are over $100 and are now only $60 are great finds. This is also a good time to stock up on blouses and sweaters – some of which are going for $25!

How I shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?

I shop the Nordstrom Sale two ways –

By Brand: I love sticking to brands I know fit me well and are good quality. Brands like: Halogen, Eliza J, Calson etc. I also keep an eye out for Brands that don’t normally go on sale or have a really good discount: Cole Hann, Vince, Tory Burch
By Styles: Coat, Sweaters, Jacket, Shoes, Work Wear pieces – I love to find the discount on bigger ticket items like coats, boots, and blazers. A lot of styles that I may not pay over $100 are so severely discounted during the Sale that its too good to pass up.

What Staple Closet Pieces I am recommending?

The over-the-knee Marc Fisher boot and the Tory Burch Boots are classic for Fall and Winter. This is about the only time you can get them at a great price. These Tory Burch boots are on sale for under $300 and they normally retail for almost $500!

Can You Recommend the Work Wear Pieces to Shop for Fall?

I love to find workpieces for Fall. I am always on the hunt for a good blazer, blouses and skirts. ~~I NEED this plaid tweed blazer.~~ It comes with a matching skirt! I also love ~~this red and white printed blazer from TopShop.~~ It’s on sale for $69, it will go back to $110 after the sale so make sure to scoop it up now!

Styles I Already Own and would Invest in for Fall:

Teddy Coats – I love the teddy coat! I have a very similar coat this teddy from Zara. I love it and wore it all the time during the winter. It was so cozy!

Rain Jackets – Living in the PNW investing in rain gear is key. I love this plaid print raincoat trench. It reminds me of the red one I have. The print on it is great and i love the more neutral color tone.

If you prefer something a bit brighter, this yellow raincoat is a great option. I love my yellow raincoat and wear it all the time during the rainy season.

Rain Boots – Also, my FAVORITE rainboots by Hunter Boots are on sale! Hunter Boots rarely ever go on sale. They typically are always $150 for the tall boots. But they are currently $99 during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I am eyeing the black ones!

Blazers – I am a huge fan of blazers for work. They are so easy to pair with jeans, skirts and nice trousers. They are a piece that gets a lot of wear and can be expensive. I use the sale to give my work wardrobe a bit of a refresh. I love finding statement blazers like this plaid option or this tweed blazer.

Sock Booties – I also love the more adventurous sock bootie trend. I have this style booties in red! These are definitely more of statement footwear. I just love the style!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Tips – items sell out very quickly with this sale! If you can shop it – pull the trigger because it will disappear from your cart FAST.
