My Relationship With My Mom

I have really rediscovered my relationship with my mom since I moved back to Seattle. Its a different experience getting to know your mom again as an adult woman. I left home when I was 18 to go to San Francisco for college. Once I graduated, I got a job in San Francisco where I worked really long hours. I only went home for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

It wasn’t until 10 years later – I moved back from San Francisco to Seattle that I have really gotten a chance to reconnect with her in a new way. One of my favorite activities with her is to take long walks in the morning where we just talk about life, family, my business and the future. She has become my closest confidant and biggest support! She always knows what to say to me to make everything feel better. She is there when I need advice or to help me with my blog, from being my photographer or copy editor.

She has always championed me to speak up for myself and go after what I want. I am so thankful for her and our relationship. I wanted to dedicate today’s post to her, especially with Mother’s Day coming up this weekend. Happy Mother’s Day mom! I wouldn’t be able to do half the things I do without you!
