It’s finally here! My NYFW recap post – I wanted to share a quick summary of my NYFW adventures when I was in New York. I also got a few questions about where I stayed, how to attend Fashion Week and my favorite New York neighborhoods.
Fashion Week is always held twice a year to showcase the latest collection/ Fall /Winter shows are in February and Spring/Summer shows are in September.
To attend shows or presentations at NYFW you have to be invited. These are not events you can just buy a ticket too. Access is tightly controlled by the PR companies that represent all the fashion brands and designers showcasing their new collections.
This is the look I wore to the Rebecca Minkoff Presentation. I paired this purple lilac blazer with my purple pumps from Sam Edelmanpurple pumps from Sam Edelman. It was quite warm that day so I went with a polka dot crop top and high waist black shorts. I recently wore the full suit version of this look: here!
HOTEL: ARLO SOHO
Sarah and I stayed at the Arlo Soho. It is right in Soho and very centrally located to Spring Studio where a lot of NYFW shows and presentations take place.
Its a micro-hotel, so the room are small but our room opened up with a large terrace. It also has a cute roof deck with a fun bar and had a floral installation for NYFW in their garden/atrium.
The other part of them being a micro-hotel is that they do not offer room service. But the hotel is well-located neer great restaurants and coffee shops, so it’s easy to run out and grab a bite.
Arlo Soho Address: 231 Hudson St, New York, NY 10013
GLAM SQUAD & SHOPBOP POP-UP
While I was in New York I finally got to try out Glam Squad! Glam Squad is an on-demand hair and makeup service. You just download the app and schedule hair and makeup like you would an Uber. I got mine done before the Rebecca Minkoff show. Glam Squad is currently available in only select locations. I am still hoping it comes to Seattle! Make sure to check its in your area: here!
NYFW & SPRING STUDIOS
Here are some quicks snaps for the I Love Pretty and Rebecca Minkoff shows. During Fashion Week I love to attend a show or two but the most important element for me is meeting with brands, agencies and PR companies.
Often times these are people I work with on campaigns or who I have connected with via Social Media. It’s always nice to see people in person and build those relationships. This was one of my funniest Fashion Weeks to-date!
I will be doing another post all about the most Instagramable places in New York. So stay tuned for that post!
