Happy Monday! I always like to wake up my muscles with a morning stretch & ab session. I usually fit this workout in after I have my morning coffee and post my daily Instagram.
This is when I take to think about my task for the day and week ahead. I have been trying to take advantage of the beautiful weather we have been having in Seattle and do my morning stretch routine outside every morning.
Keep reading to see my morning stretch and ab routine to help wake me up and get the blood pumping. I found this ombré activewear set on Net-A-Porter. I absolutely love the shading of this set and its super comfortable. This set is by Splits59. It is on the more expensive side but with the unique coloring - it was worth the splurge.

MORNING STRETCH ROUTINE
-
DOWNWARD FACING DOG - Hold downward-facing dog for 2-3 breaths
-
ALTERNATE LEG LIFTS IN DOWNWARD DOG - Hold and point each leg for 3-5 breaths
-
CRESENT LOW LUNGE crescent low lunge - Stretch and open your hips, hold for 3-5 breaths
-
LEG LIFTS WITH MEDICINE BALL - raise your leg. and keep your back supported against the ball, hold and lower - switch legs
-
DONKEY KICKS - lift your right leg, knee staying bent, foot staying flat, and hinging at the hip. Use your glute to press your foot directly toward the ceiling and squeeze at the top.

I like to incorporate medicine balls into my routine to help with my back and work my abs. WORKOUT TIP: If you looking to add an exercise ball to your routine, makes sure you buy based on the ball size that is best for your height. This easy chart breaks down the best exercise ball based on height.
