Monday night was the 2011 Met Gala; essentially fashion’s version of the Super Bowl. The theme of this year’s Gala was “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” in honor of the late designer. While a few opted for McQueen gowns, sparkly nude colored dresses dominated the event which is a trend we have seen on the red carpet a great deal this season.

Gisele looked gorgeous (as always) in a red McQueen gown and Miranda Kerr looked adorable in a ballerina inspired Marchesa. With the exception of a few standouts here and there, the dresses were a bit tame this year, especially for a night in honor of McQueen.

It IS the superbowl of fashion! 😉 So much to love… but Vera Wang was one of my faves. She looked like a (stylish and gorgeous) mermaid!
I kinda like Kristen Stewart’s dress – on her anyway. But yes most the dresses were tame!
All of these looks are so beautiful! Love your blog.
