Ladies, It’s Time to Mask Up!

Leaving the house is going to start looking a bit different due to the spread of coronavirus. The CDC is now recommending wearing a protective face mask when you are going into public.

One of the hardest things about the coronavirus is that we are still learning about the virus and its impact. But the more doctors and scientists learn about the disease, they are finding that the virus can spread at a further rate than previously estimated.

The CDC is recommending to wear a cloth face mask because the N95 mask should be reserved for medical workers, doctors, and nurses, who are currently facing larger shortages of PPE supplies.

As of April 20th the following States:  Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, are all requiring protective face mask when you are out in public or running to the grocery store. Gov. Gavin Newsom of California indicated the state is considering requiring face coverings and masks to be worn at all times in public settings.

I found a few different options to shop for a mask or you can make your own! Follow these easy steps to make your own protective face masks. Make sure it covers your nose and mouth so that the bottom edge of the mask is under your chin.

I wear the mask every time I go to the store. I am wearing the mask because I do not want to expose anyone in my family to anything I might pick up.

So wear a mask for all the essential workers, like the ones working at the grocery store, fulfilling the supply chains and the medical workers on the front lines.

Let’s keep social distancing, mask up, and flatten the curve!
