There are only 8 days till Thanksgiving and then the Holiday's will officially be in full swing. I asked on Instagram for ideas and topics to cover for the Holidays and got several requests about picking gifts for clients. Whether you work in corporate or run your own business, the Holiday quarter is always a good time to show your appreciation for your clients and to remind them of your partnership! But picking a gift can be tricky - there are several factors to consider when you selecting your Holiday gift for clients:
What to Consider When Picking Client Holiday Gifts
Personalize the gift to the client - There is nothing that says special thought went into a gift than a personalized touch. I love the idea of personalized or monogrammed water bottles. You are helping the environment and it's something everyone likes to have on hand.
Keep it proportional to your client relationship - Clients may fall into different tiers for gifting depending on how long you have worked with them or the level of investment they have given your business. Make sure the gift aligns to the client value.
Gifts Do Not have to be Seasonal - I always tried to pick gifts that a client could use year-round, versus seasonal kitschy gifts. Quality gifts that are always beneficial like wine openers, or portable charges. These types of gifts help keep you top of mind and show you went the extra mile
Give Back - When in doubt I always like the idea of giving to a client's preferred charity and to help pay it forward with good cheer. I always recommend finishing off the donation with a card and a nice bottle of wine! If you have clients in California, I recommend donating to the Fire Relief Fund for everyone affected by the devastating fires.
