Create & Cultivate Seattle Conference

As I said on Instagram – I like to think I am a woman with a plan – but who knows? I attend the Create & Cultivate Seattle conference at the Microsoft Campus this last weekend to help me find some much-needed inspiration and be surrounded by amazing women!

What is Create & Cultivate?

Create & Cultivate is a movement that brings together women and starts conversations that empower them to live their dreams. They gather the next generation of curious creatives, entrepreneurs and bosses to spark conversation around the topics they are passionate about from influencer marketing and brand building to raising money.

Conferences and events can be tricky to pull off – we have all heard about the Frey Festival. The Create & Cultivate team did a really good job of cultivating (ha! see what I did there?) great female leaders and brands owned by amazing women. They were very thoughtful in all the partnerships and women who appeared on the panel and it really showed. And the setup at the actual event space was very impressive. The conference was curated with gorgeous floral arrangement and Instagram-able signage. It had a massive pop-up market featuring brands like La Croix, Brahmin, Richer Poorer and Simon G.

Conference Details

The conference had two track sessions with Track 1 being dedicated to entrepreneurship, advancing your career and growing your brand. Track 2 was geared towards social and content creation. The conference had a dedicated mentorship section where you paired with mentors that were all leaders in their fields: business owners, venture capitalist, content creators, bloggers. It was a great mix! You had dedicated time to ask questions and get real feedback on their experience.

Yours truly trying to document every moment of the conference and soaking up all the knowledge I was getting from the panelists! My favorite panel was the LaunchPad. All of those women gave really great advice and I got to ask a question to the panel. They were so attentive and honest with their feedback. I have shared a few of my favorite pieces of advice for you to tweet above! My favorite part of the day was when we broke down into our mentorship groups. It was a small setting where you could ask questions to your mentor. My mentors were Sonya Brown, a VC partner at Northwest Ventures and Jessy Fofana founder of LaRue PR. It was great getting to ask them questions 1-on-1 and really get to pick their brain on brand building and standing out from the crowd. They ended the day with the Keynote conversations involving Issa Rae, who is hilarious and Mandy More.

Life Begins A The End Of Your Comfort Zone

I attended the conference by myself and it was a good push outside of my comfort zone. When you attend a large event like the conference by yourself it can be intimidating – but being open to meeting new people and just starting a conversation can really open up new relationships! There are so many women all try to get their hustle on and chase their dreams. This is a community that supports and wants to help you achieve that dream – whether it’s starting your own business or just understanding the value you bring to the table.  I would recommend the Create & Cultivate conference if it comes to your city!
