2019: My Year in Review

Ladies, grab a cup of coffee and settle in! I am finally sharing my 2019 end of the year review. It took me a few days to write this 2019 recap, as a lot has happened over the year.

I always like to look back at my previous year, 2018 Recap & Goals, to help me understand my growth and the NEW series that I have launched across the blog in 2019: Work Series & How To Start A Blog.

In 2019 I have expanded the blog to include more content topics around work and blogging. My goal with new content is to always come from a place of value. What that means for the blog, is that any content I am creating needs to be beneficial and relevant to you, and what is going on in your life.

For me, that included 4 core content buckets: 1. Work, 2. Travel and 3. What To Wear, 4. Blogging!

WORK & BLOGGING

In March of 2019 I launched NEW Female Interview Series to mark Womens Month and help highlight female entrepreneurs that are killing it in their space.

With my Work Series, I am sharing work topics and advice for tackling your everday work conversations (meetings, difficult clients, career networking etc). I  recently shared How To Negotiate A Raise in 2020

I also launched NEW series on How To Start A Blog. I typically get the same questions from readers about starting a blog. After blogging for 9 years I decided to share a few of the core lesson I learned about blogging, building your audience and how I turned my blog into a profitable business.

CONTENT CREATING & BRAND INCLUSIVITY

One of my favorite partnships in 2019 has been working with my photographer Sarah on the blog. She also collaborates with me on promoting Brands that create Fashion for All! It is really important to me to promote and spend money on brands that are size inclusive vs exclusive.

We have a great collabrative partnership and she has really helped me stretch my creative muscles with different editorial and outdoor shoots! She also shoot all of my Outfits of The Day that you see on the blog! She is my partner and crime and I am very thankful for her photography skills!

Brand Partnerships & Press

I had the opportunity to work with some of my favorite brands this year! Neutrogena and Dove are brands I grew up with and getting to work with them was so sureal. Kiehl's is a skincare brand I use regliously, especially their Midnight Recovery Serum. So I was very excited when they invited me on an amazing brand trip to learn all about their latest skincare products.

I also had the opportunity to host multiple in-store events for Kendra Scott as well as be featured on Q13 Fox News with Ellen Tailor, where I shared different style tips and tricks to help stretch your wardrobe! Check them out: HERE!

NYFW

I attended Fashion Week in New York and stayed at the Arlo Hotel in Soho. Its a mico-hotel with well designed rooms and very centrally located. I attended a few runway shows and had a lot of brand and PR meetings. I always love an excuse to go to New York!

SEATTLE & FAMILY

I hit my two-year mark in Seattle and have been growing my network with the help of organizations like the  Seattle Business Babes. I spoke on their Social Media panel and hosted a Business pricing workshop during their all day-conference. My focus was helping women owned business set pricing that will help make them profitable!

I also got to spend more time with my family, experienced some personal loss in 2019 and got to see my older brother got married! I am also a proud auntie with 3 adorable nephews. You may see them from time to time on my IG Stories. I love my quality time with them!

YOUTUBE & VIDEO

Video was one of my goals in 2018 and its something that I kept up in 2019. I shared quite a few different Youtube videos as well as IGTV Style videos across Instagram.

I have a NEW Youtube video coming soon! Make sure you subscribe to my channel!
